By Courtney Pendino, HR Generalist
This is my first blog post (and hopefully not my last!) because I am wrapping up my first month of employment with Coolfront Technologies. I am their new HR Generalist.
I was shaking with tears in my eyes when I handed my resignation notice to my boss who I had worked with for the past six years. I was resigning from a job I was comfortable and familiar with. I had developed relationships with everyone, was vested into their retirement plan and had the max amount of vacation time. I knew how to do the job well and I know I could have worked there until I retired. I “had it made” as some people would say.
But then I saw an opportunity with Coolfront Technologies. I did my research on the company and ultimately applied for the job. I met with some members of the team and everything sounded great. Was it too good to be true , I wondered? I was offered the job and I was scared to make a decision (I even had a couple sleepless nights!) Should I leave something that I know to go to the unknown? What if I didn’t like the new job? What if the people there didn’t like me? This was my career—would making a change ruin it? It comes down to the fact that Change is scary. After much thought, I knew that if I didn’t take the risk, I wouldn’t grow in my career or as a person. How could I keep learning if I was doing the same thing day after day?
Now, I’m sure some of you reading this post may be thinking how this could relate to your business. You may be doing the same thing day after day, year after year. You are comfortable with what you are doing. You may have fears of trying something new. But deep down you know you need a change in order to grow your business.
Let me tell you, although change is scary, change is good.
So I challenge you to face any fears you may have and make a change to Coolfront Technologies. The advantage that you have, that I didn’t have, is you can try out Coolfront with 50 free work orders! I’m so happy I faced the fear, and I bet you will be, too.
